Week 04 - Class Notes

HOMEWORK

- Decide what STYLE you want to do
- Group Leader has final say (Your most quiet classmate is the group leader for this week)
- Create your STYLE GUIDE
  - 8 PAGES per student
  - 7 of those pages can cover:
    - Hands and Feet
    - Body
    - Expressions
    - Line Weight
    - Proportions
    - Facial Features
    - How to design one of your character
    - And anything else that would apply
- Once the STYLE GUIDE is figured out
   - Your 8th page is 3 of the characters drawn in this NEW STYLE
- Put ALL YOUR CHARACTERS design in one GROUP LINEUP

OPTIONAL (but recommended)
- Create a layout for the page so the style guide looks consistent across the board from each student
- It should look/feel as if one person designed the style guide

TIPS

- Pick a style that the teams feels enthusiastic to work on (that doesn't mean it has to be an easy style)
- Keep in mind you only have a week to complete it, so be mindful of the overall complexity
- You can choose to modify an existing style
- Decide on some early rules when picking your style:
  - Does it have multiple views?
  - Are there joints in the arms/legs?
  - Perspective or no perspective?
  - Squash and stretch?
  - Texture, no texture?
  - Line weight?
  - Is it shape design heavy?
  - Is it line weight heavy?
  - What's the overall mood and theme? Funny, serious, bizarre?
